forgot to mention it was a maybe 50-65 yard shot. it shoots well and is pretty accurate. chinese ak-47's are top quality ones and range between $400-$1700 depending on type. they haven't been imported since 1994 and are way better than some others you find. It has a heavier barrel then most standard akms (stamped receiver ak rifles) they come in milled too like type 3 ak-47s. The chinese ak rifles come in 7.62x39mm (mine is a norinco mak-90 7.62x39mm) and 5.56x45mm. there are many types like the type-56s1 type-56s2, type-84s1...etc. if you do buy one make sure it isn't really rust (minor rust can be gotten rid of) and make sure you are paying a fair price for the model you do buy. polytech ones are generally thought to be better.
WARNING: some mak-90s in both calibers have slant cut receivers and you will only be able to buy a replacement buttstock from ironwood designs. If you buy a mak 90 try and look at the receiver type as well. mine is straight cut. lucky me :)
