I am physically and mentally capable of fighting, but I have not been in enough fights to identify myself as a fighter.

I'm not a walking battleship, but I can hold my own in a fight. In general, I'd say I'd be more of a peace negotiator in a dangerous situation. I prefer to avoid physical confrontation, but I'm more than capable of defending myself if it comes to that.
I can fight, but I don't fight often. Still, if someone were to come at me(bro) the wrong way, I'd put them in a hurt locker before they ever knew what hit them.

In serious respect of the thread I can fight but I hate too. I always feel terrible when I do - unless sparring. I only ever usually give it 100% on the pads and bags (or Jujitsu tournaments). In actual - circumstances - I'll probably be going about 75% unless the situation was really bad.

I have gotten in a few fights and I have a black belt, punched 928 on the punching bag machine as well as knocked some one out cold one punch and here is my advice:
There are only few situations that will result in a fight and they are 99% the result of a woman or a bar fight.
Punching and blocking are muscle memory actions and if you have never thrown a punch, blocked or dodged you will stand to get your ass kicked.
The best deterrent is to not have a dumb/selfish/useless GF or make a serious ass of yourself at the bar. Know how to punch, punch hard. Don't pick fights you can't stand to lose and always stand on some sort of higher ground that you can take advantage of; know your enemies weaknesses and know your strengths (at least have strengths) lol :/ lose teeth / brain cells w/e

Been involved in combative sports for a while (judo, wrestling, BJJ, MMA, etc.) so I can fight. I've had 3 amateur MMA fights and won them all. Still get stomped by the guys I train with though.

I've actually never gotten to that point in a fight, even. I seem to do well in avoiding them in the first place. However, I'm smart enough to know when I'm outgunned.
