This is something I have a lot of trouble doing for some reason. For an animation I am working on, I need to animate 2 fires, a match fire and a house fire. Does anyone know any good techniques or methods to animate a fire in Flash or Photoshop? Or if you want to animate it for me, I would be happy happy to put your name under "Additional Animation".

Thanks for the suggestion but I have tried that many times with little to no luck at all

cool link. Bookmarked it.
Im thinking now that I'm looking at how Chris did the flame. I bet i could do it with a series of masks. I wonder if thats how he did it. Might be worth experimenting on... Never considered doing it that way but in theory it should work and make it feel organic

That removed a lot of the fluidity and cartoony effect to the fire he's trying to make though.
