Newgrounds Television Advertisement

Okay, I have contacted a popular Tv Channel and have asked about advertising for Newgrounds. This may turn out great, this may fail but it is worth a try. This will be featured in between great T.V. shows like Top Gear.

We can advertise 100, 30 second advertisements over the time Period of 1 month for $2000. We will need to raise this money first though so I will ask Tom and them if they could start up a fund or something like that. You never know, we may raise more than $2000 just so we can advertise more.

Just incase you are wandering, the channel is "GO!"

This will be something to go down in the books for Newgrounds.

So what I need is highly experienced animators to join in on the fun and help boost the popularity of this site.

Even if you are not a very good animator or anything, you could create a small piece of art or something to be shown which I will manage to fit in somewhere.

Someone will start off with the animation and then give it to someone else to continue, a bit like Pass my flash.

I will also need a co-writer. I will be writing and I will compile this thing together and submit to the company to advertise.

Rules:

No porn at all as it is for T.V.

No Swearing

Comedy is allowed.

But please NO bitmaps because the screen will be expanded

Specs:

750 x 450

First off I will be needing 4 animators whom I will decide as well as 1 audio artist and 6 artists (they are just the main artists).

Oh and I will need a voice actor. We will vote on whom is the best.

This will be a once in a life time opportunity.

Now everyone will be wanting to get in on this so you could do something small, just to be shown in the flash.

Give me a small piece of art that you have done your 100% best on and give it to me and I will try put it in somewhere.

Parts available:

1 - 8 sec

8 - 16

16 - 23

23 - 30

I am too young to send this by email to the company so Tom himself will be if he agrees.

So put your name down for whatever you want and I will judge.

For the bitmap rule, is it okay to allow backgrounds/artwork made in photoshop since flash is capable of taking psds into the file or exported as high resolution jpgs?

Why not set something up on kickstarter. Maybe Tom would be more willing to match pledges than cover the whole amount. $1,000 shouldn't be that hard to hit! ...just a suggestion.

I don't like the look of this thread one bit.
First off, if you can't submit it to GO! then how did you reach them about submitting something to them in the first place. Also, if you can't submit it, it obviously means that you are underage by their standards, which probably means younger than 16.
Secondly, why the hell do you think we need to generate more views? Newgrounds is one of the most visited sites on the internet. We definitely don't need to generate views through television.
Thirdly, $2000? Excuse me, but I don't think that's worth it. Also, I would not trust sending money to you for it.
Lastly, once again, you're trying to organize something where you'll contribute nothing to it whatsoever, but you'll still somehow take credit for everything that you haven't done.

@BigJohnny: I am not going to take any of the credit, I will be giving it to Tom Fulp for him to e-mail. Also I am not taking the money and I would most definetly not go on a run if I did. And this is just something for people to have fun t enjoy, to see there work on television.

Also I am contributing to this mate, I will write it, add in some extra animation if needed and supply some fucking money. FFS mate just please, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for people to see pieces of work shown on television by millions of people.

Whilst I've no opinion on if SteakAndKids'kneesPie is the best person to run the project (despite that he owns a 3.5+ BA), I can't deny that the idea is quite tantalising, and it might be worth seeing how far this thing develops.

This is a pretty good idea and would be really cool. If it's going on tv then you really want experienced animators and artists in it otherwise it'll probably seem quite poor compared to many professionally made ads.

The ads are going to have to be planned out I think and not just be made up individually. Four separate animations advertising Newgrounds which have just been put together to make 30 seconds would be a bit dodgy. There's a big difference in the average quality of a newgrounds flash collab and a tv commercial.

You come up with good ideas but from what I've seen from your collabs your design/composition skills aren't up to a tv standard at all so you should probably try and find someone to do it or help with it if this gets anywhere.

Also I think the ad needs to be approved or something before it can air (link), probably a good thing to remember.

I think I will create something like this in a few years time when I get alot better at animating at all. And yes, not many animators at all can animate in flash up to T.V. standards so I think it is best to abort. This idea was something different but many ideas do fail.
