Check your download history. What was the last file you downloaded, and what was it's purpose?

We had some good times, Newgrounds.

It would be a terrible +1 post if I simply said "inb4 porn," so I'll share what I downloaded.

I got a Descent mission file from some file service. No big deal.

This essay I wrote for school:

There are few men synonymous with the term "Terror". Joseph Stalin and Genghis Khan are well-known by many, but long before them, there was Attila the Hun, a man known as "The Scourge of God". Attila the Hun was a man so hated, so feared, his enemies thought him to be inhuman, sent by God to punish mankind for her sins. Yet, there are softer sides revealed to this man, such as when he spared Rome at the request of the Pope. Attila the Hun is an engima wraped in mystery, but what we do know paints a very human picture. Attila the Hun was born in 406 to Mundzuk, brother of the Hun chieftain, Rugila. When Rugila died in 434, Mundzuk soon followed, leaving Attila and his brother Bleda in control of the Hun tribes. Before Rugila's death, Rugila had spent time consolidating the power of the Hunnic Empire, in turn forcing the Eastern Romans to pay tribute, placing the Huns on the world stage. When Attila and his brother came to power, their empire stretched from Russia all the way to the Danube, a size comparable to both Roman empires at that time. Attila spent the next few years consolidating and expanding his new empire, with the aid of his brother, raiding the Romans, Sassanids, and whoever else was unfortunate enough to be caught in his path, until 447 when Bleda was killed in a hunting accident. Many contemporary historians claim that Attila arranged for this to happen, but this is mere speculation. His first act as sole ruler was to declare war on the Eastern Romans, decisively defeating them at the Battle of Utus, even threatening the Imperial capitol of Constantinople, but settling for an expansion of the tribute Rugila had negotiated. The conflict between the Huns and the Eastern Romans did not last a year, a testament to Attila's rising reputation as a fighter. Attila soon afterwards invaded the Western Roman Empire in 450, claiming the Emperor's sister, Honoria, had offered her hand in marriage and agreed to give half the empire as a dowry. It is during this period where Attila became truly known as a bloodthirsty maniac, threatening to pillage towns if they did not pay a ransom and if they declined, making that same offer after pillaging the city. Attila rode through France, extorting gold out of villages or even outright razing them there to appease his soldier's, and perhaps his own, lust for booty. Although pleased with his invasion so far, fate would not be so kind when on June 20, 451, Attila was stopped by an allied Romano-Goth army, led by Flavius Aetius, General of the Western Roman army and a personal acquaintance of Attila, and Theodoric, King of the Visigoths. Taking place near Chalons-en-Champagne, directly east of Paris, the Battle of the Catalaunian Plains resulted in heavy casualties on both sides, including Theodoric, who was allegedly thrown from his horse and trampled. Although a tactical stalemate on both sides, Attila was induced to retreat and the Western Romans claimed victory, having shattered Attila's prior aura of invulnerability. Yet, this was just a minor setback for Attila, who returned the following year and pierced into Italy to make good on Honoria's proposal. Many cities were razed to the ground and and only the intervention of the Pope saved Rome from Attila's rampage. Soon afterwards, Attila would pass on in the early months of 453, having choked to death from a nosebleed. Attila is often portrayed as a savage barbarian, willing to use whatever means necessary for his own gain. Many cultures west of the Danube only hold contempt for Attila, claiming that he destroyed lives, cultures, and history with his wanderings, with legend even claiming that Attila indirectly founded Venice by driving men and women into the Venetian islands by destroying any cities further inland. To the French, Italian, and German, Attila is nothing more than a psychopath who should be put with the likes of Hitler and Pol Pot as history's most evil. There can be much said for these claims. For example, Jordanes, a historian of the 6th Century, writes: "He was a man born into the world to shake the nations, the scourge of all lands, who in some way terrified all mankind by the dreadful rumors noised abroad concerning him." What Jordanes implies is that Attila was a plague, an embodiment of evil, born to make the world shake in fear. Jordanes was a noted spokesman for the claim that Attila kill his brother for the throne. Strangely, Jordanes very much tries to shroud the man in mystery and myth, further clouding the truth as to whether Attila would go so far as fratricide. However, to many who would idolize this nomad, the thought of Attila being a monster is absurd. For example, Attila is among Hungary's most-beloved cultural heroes, with many people believing the Magyars to be direct descendants of the Hunnic Empire. They would claim that Attila brought the Ugric peoples fame and repute as warriors, when before his time Magyars, Turks, and others had only been known as slaves or sword-fodder, Attila being their liberator and prophet. Many Hungarian Christians would claim that Attila was kind enough to not destroy the fledgling Catholic Church, showing tolerance in an age where a Pagan like Attila would have every excuse to slay the Pope right then and there. In fact, Attila is a very popular name in Hungary, Turkey, and other traditionally nomadic countries, with parents wanting their children to inherit Attila's courage and virility. Attila is even portrayed as a wise and generous ruler in the German epic poem Nibelungenlied. Yet, for all the arguments for and against the man, not much will ever be certain about him. Being born into the middle of the Dark Ages, a period of great confusion and chaos, so there is little in the ways of written word except from the words of his enemies, those being the Romans. As a man who has been alternatively portrayed as the first great tyrant to a man simply trying to lead his people to prosperity, one can only be certain that Attila will remain one of the most controversial figures in the history of the world. Attila the Hun was a fighter, an enigma, but most of all, someone who will never be forgotten in the annals of history.

I think I downloaded to make sure it uploaded correctly. I have to turn shit in online. Sweet, eh?

The last thing I downloaded was a PowerPoint presentation that my lecturer uploaded about data structures. I needed it to see the pseudo code for a sorting algorithm that I had to use as a part of my coursework.

She must be pretty smart to have downloaded and run the game on your computer without you knowing, and without your help.
