Free FL Studio limitations. 2009-07-09 17:51:15

So I know what can and can't be done with the free version of FL Studio. Since I'm kind of getting into this whole music deal, I was wondering if anyone could tell me the upsides to the 50 dollar version versus the free version. I know you can save and such but are there more sounds you can use? Also, I don't know if I'm doing it wrong but I don't think you can use a step sequencer in the free version, can you in the payed?

The free version is the XXL version minus the ability to save project files.

This table shows the features of each version.

Here you can compare it all.

FL Studio user here. Don't waste your money on the express edition, it's worse than the free version. Like someone already said, the free version is XXL minus the ability to save project files. As long as you don't shut down the program, it's excellent.

Don't believe me? Click on my profile. Every single song you see there was made with the demo version, plus a vast array of free samples, soundfonts, and vsts. (or if not free, then their demo versions, which usually come with the limitation of not being able to save, which, as you can see, I usually bypass)

I mean, it would be nice to save my projects, as well as access the vast array of free samples that actually comes with the purchase of FL Studio, but unfortunately I can't for now because I'm poor.

Oh well....

Before i purchased Fl xxl, i just exported all my songs as a midi, same as saving :D

but if you want to save your own synth presets, your much better off buying it,

and dont quote me on this, but i think there is a chance that the free version dose not have vsti support.
