Hi there folks !
Ever heard of "Chamber Music" ? bet so.
Why not "Kitchen Music" then ?
Eh, just jokin'.
So, one day I was listening to Tonehammer's Propanium - a very nice sample bank for NI Kontakt of a metal based, tongue drum. (59$)
I loved it from the first note, but as I am short on money these days... :(
The solution come when my wife's desk lamp felt down... what a sound... mmm... why not sample it and make my own "lamp based instrument" ?
So, I took it and record fast.
Just one layer of a single note can sound like this:
Just one layer, loaded into FL default sample + reverb & delay.
This is an example of how sounds alone (first part) and how can be integrated in more complex (porn groove) music (second part).
Sounds used:
Mib.wav and Sib.wav for free download.
If you use in FL, load in FL sampler and assign as root note Eb for Mib and Bb for Sib.
I didn't stop here, after making that and seeing what can be done I was running all around knocking every vase, pot, metal bar ... my wife was totally exasperated :))
Well, the results are more impressive.
3 velocity layers, some percussive effects (like UDU drum) out of vase and some metal bars and pots.
As an example of the new layered samples:
Sounds used:
Metal FX 1
Lamp 1
Pot Drums
All for free download and use.
All as 16 bit, 48 khz wav. files and Reason NN-XT patch.
Gear used for sampling:
- microphone Oktava MK 319
- mixer Behringer Eurorack UB1204FX-Pro
Upcoming, a multi layered Pax sampler format for FL users.
Cheers
