ololol, alright alright fun has been had. It's true it was an elaborate joke! I'll let the others who were in on it reveal themselves if they'd like. Wade was in on it as well agreeing to temporarily ban my audio page for the day to leave no doubt it was true. Come on let's be honest, how many of you would have believed this story if my audio was still there? How many believed it after?
I know stolen audio is no trivial matter. Some of you may remember how incredibly well I handled myself with the last two major busts. So of course, there was no April Fools joke greater for us the audio community then this. It took me like 3 hours to write up that apology letter. It was a damn good letter too! DreamScaper, Immune, and zellers all had awesome letters (come on, after the rage storm all three were mini-Shakespeares) so writing something heartfelt was made a lot easier with those examples. Plus I used to write a lot before I got mad serious with music so that helped. I have to admit I did feel a bit queezy while I wrote it, even in joke.
John Shore was made up with the very simple combination of John Williams and Howard Shore. There was no immediate connection to the guy who invented the tuning fork. I must admit that was MAD lucky coincidence. Small world I guess, even smaller name pool. Even smaller job diversity. Also the whole JOhn SHore thing was brilliant. Whoever read that deep should write mystery novels.
Originally it was discussed to keep this going for longer then April 1st to REALLY make it believable (since rightfully so, many of you called our bluff), but I felt the bad joke would have been in even worse taste if it was extended past. A shame Tom's April Fools joke completely raped the forums though. The day of possible speculation was lost to the Ministry of Communication or whoever was going through our post history.
There were a few plot holes to our elaborate story.
1. We didn't think about how I would have done the "custom" audio for the projects I was in. I wanted to say I just butchered the loops and songs into minute segments, was a bit of a stretch.
2. We discussed long and hard about why John Shore would have had no website (that weed dude was again, just coincidence). We came up with a solid story for the most part but explaining it was a difficult task. That was where things got elaborate. Guy is a teacher from god knows where, I came upon one of his students, student supplied me with midi's then later high quality mp3's (ololol, get it cuz we have to explain gradual jump in quality).
I'm sure there are others if time was spent really scrutinizing the whole thing,
Also how come none of you even TRIED to pm me >:c?! Cut my feelings real deep. Only one person sent me a pm asking what happened. J00 guises made meh sad. Even you who jumped right on the Joke Train didn't write a pm (though your posts on the newspost were often lulz).
So anyways... APRIL FOOLS :D!!!!!!!!!!!!
We pulled this all together in like an hour too. Though it took me 3 after the initial planning stage to write that letter. All things considered, it was a rather impressive last minute thing.
