This topic has been brought up in threads before, but I've never seen one with a solid answer so here goes.

Anyone know how to upload songs to myspace in a way that doesn't make the songs sound like shit? Any of the stuff of mine I've tried to upload there, regardless of the quality of the mp3, always sounds awful when it you hear it on the page.

I know lots of people have this problem, but there's clearly a solution as there are very high quality tracks on myspace as well as the bad ones.
Any help or tips you can give would be great.

A heavy bassline is my kind of silence.

There is a simple solution. Pay Myspace the money they require for such services.

What about a decent mastering to begin with?

However, Myspace automaticly converts uploaded files to ~96kbit/s, the only way to get around this would be a custom 3rd party profile player I guess.

Or consider going to lastfm, where they don't ruin the music.

I'd just use a 3rd party music player. But I don't have a MySpace yet.

Ya, I realize there are better sites for this sort of thing, I prefer ilike personally, but I was just hoping for a way to get it to work on myspace, as its a common medium for my close friends.

Ah well.
