This was supposed to be my first Reason 6 song, but got shelved so I could work on my entry to the Mac and Nac (Dec 2012). So I tried to go for a ragtime feel with the piano, but I think I got jazz instead. There's only a piano, a bass, a synth, drums and a clap. So this track the first I've released that doesn't make Reason stop because my computer is too slow.
All the of piano was done by me through a MIDI controller. No, I am not this epic (yet), so any part that sounded really cool was recorded at half-tempo so I could get it down right.

What a fun piece!
The dynamic stuff has already been hashed to death by others, so I won't re-iterate it here. The precision, and almost percussive, piano strikes remind me a lot of the kind of thing Thelonious Monk was so great at. This piece grooves.

Really like the melody and beat - I would try to add more dynamics into the piano part though, it sounds unnatural to me. Still groovin'.
