Metal, Rock - Grunge

This one is best-described as a schizophrenic progressive grunge rock ballad with jam-band and psychedelic influences. There are kick ass drums that sound like a basic Ludwig set, and vocals and lyrics, and guitars all by me. Yay!

[Auth. Note: So, here are the lyrics so you don't have to tax your mozilla by having a million tabs open just to read the lyrics while listening to the song. But if you'd like to know what the song is really about, then by all means go to my myspace, because that's where it is. +G]

"Terra Angelica"

slowly i go, with this aura about me
while far beyond me you lose sleep
gently you whisper in my ear
and you keep my fearless here
all these years you've lost sleep over me
quickly i stride across a plain of delusion
towards a house, in a field, where all wounds heal
but my patience thins, the walls come caving in
gving me new eyes that can detect lies
but all the while, i'm wondering
"is it worth it?"

oh, nothing is without
a single shadow of a doubt
that never really means never
and she paces gracelessly
making tedious footfalls
exhausted and sly
and she walks slowly
as she walks, she flies

I enjoyed the song and heard some nice influences.

The only thing that I felt that was too familiar, was the beginning sounding like "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" I liked the general setup though.

Gunshy responds:

hmmm yeah i hear it, i hear exactly what you're talking about... in my defense i think it's JUUUUST different enough to retain legal distinction, but yeah at best it's HIGHLY HIGHLY reminiscent of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" there in the 1st verse... the 2nd switches it up enough, with the melody, but yeah that 1st verse is a little troubling. thanks for the 9 despite it though :)

Damn near perfect. Reminds me of The Smashing Pumpkins, love the progression, it's very original

I think the lyrics could use more work like try writing about events in your life and things that matter to you.

You have a great voice too and all the instruments fit in nicely.

hey hey, this isn't totally useless... it's a fuckin 9 after all...
to be fair, these are half the lyrics of the original version, which would have been twice as long. at the time i cared about song length... but, to be blunt, this song IS about something that matters to me, a dead friend. i just hide the real meaning behind all this imagery. at the time of writing it (about 6 yrs after the friend's sudden death) this was still all i could say about her, about how i felt... about how i was dealing with it, still... and it came out in this dreamy super-saturated metaphor, with so many esoteric and/or freudian symbols, he'd have a field day... now if i wrote this song i'd probably go the other direction with it, turn it into a story about some other girl, her death and 'walking as she flies,'
etc... anyway, thanks for the compliments on the vox and instrumentation, much appreciated, as well as the favoriting.
be well.

Great song indeed, like all your other songs. This one is among my favourites, the guitar is just great, the way i like it, and the lyrics are incredible as well but i can't help but wander who is the person you wrote this song for?
