Got a really positive response on Soundcloud on this one, might as well put it here.

Thought up the melody for this one while I was driving past the beach after a botched math test. Might go back and add some more melodies/progressions/ do some remastering when I feel more inspired.

DJ Niamek/Sapphire Nine has been the composer I've always wanted to be, and just listening to this song, I feel as though I've made it. Chill and get in the groove.

All custom synths and 100% Harmless per usual.

Nice work on this, I enjoyed listening to it.

I could only really pick out a couple things that bugged me. First, I think the synth that comes in at 0:43 is a little too loud. Aside from turning it down a bit, I would probably try putting some kind of chorus effect on it so that it sounds less mono, if you get what I mean.
Second, I thought the kick lacked impact (albeit only slightly). I would be curious to experiment with a lower-pitched kick, or if not, maybe layer it with some other kick. But far be it from me to shit on your creative decisions.

Good things that stood out to me:
-Nice composition
-2:22 has a fucking nice atmosphere; same with the ending. That square thing with the delay effect is fantastic and well-suited for this song
-The thing with the kicks at 3:15 is cool
-Enjoyable song as a whole. If it were mastered to a professional standard (not to talk shit), I could see myself listening to this a lot.

After listening to this and Antare's answer multiple times for reviewing, I'm wondering if you've ever considered making an ambient style tune? You seem like you'd be good at it. Also, how many hours went into this?

I'm not a big fan of chorus if you can tell but what you said is definitely true, it would help blend that lead in better. I'll go back and balance that kick out, too, and see how it sounds.

I've done a couple ambient pieces for games I've worked on but I've never tried doing anything long and serious out of them -- just not emotionally gripping enough, yknow. I could give it a try though. Thanks for all the feedback -- everything you critique and praise is something I can fix/reuse in later pieces.
