I had to make a few compromises because I just saturated the project with audio samples and effects, and toward the end, if I spent more than 10 minutes working on it, FL studio would crash.
My first try at conventional dubstep, and overall, I like the outcome.
I'd like to thank my good friend Jack Rys for providing the psychotic ramblings at the end. He's normally not involved in this style of music, but you can check out his soundcloud here

There's a really basic plot to this song, and it's very similar to er... Silent Hill 2. Where I got that "waiting for you" sample :X
Except instead of confronting his demons in the form of a visit to silent hill, he concludes that his wife is waiting for him on the "other side", so he goes and offs himself.

Okay I have to admit that at 1:20, that drop was great to listen to. Just what this piece needed when I started to have doubts, but man this is good. Caught me off guard.

UrnSudden responds:

Thank you!
I'm glad it had that effect~ I suppose it's misleading to say this is my first try at dubstep, I've definitely TRIED it before, but this is the first time I really got the sound I wanted out of it, and to hear that the drop (my biggest mishap with previous attempts) was good is wonderful, Thanks again :D

I really really like the scratch-like lead in the intro. You must be proud of it! This has all a pretty good ambiance to it. The drop was a little too loud maybe? That's up to preference--I imagine you wanted to have a bit of the surprise factor there.
The piano bit was fantastic! I think the glitched out voice's high frequencies were a little too interfering, but a cool idea all the same.
Neat track! I'll have to check more of your stuff out in the future!

UrnSudden responds:

Thank you :D
I really love doing that scratch-lead type thing in a lot of my songs, and at the same time, I'm kind of like "I wish I started doing it of my own volition, rather than because I didn't know how to do real scratching" haha.
I do agree, the voice track was up a little high, and the drop was a little loud in respect to the drum track, too. I'd ascribe that to staying up late and working on it in sections with the volume down on my speakers really low, so I didn't end up looking at it overall really in too much detail until the morning after I published it. But I might resubmit an amended track~
Thanks for the review~

Hey, this is really cool!
I love the concept of blending dubstep with an ambient horror feel :D
You did a really great job with making this feel halloweeny.
The piano fits in surprisingly well too.
Really not that much to criticise here :/
Great job ;)

UrnSudden responds:

It's funny that you use the adjective "Halloweeny" haha, when I was working on this, I didn't know what I was gonna call it, so I titled the .flp "Hallow Wiener"
Thank you for the review :D

I feel like the only criticism I'm prepared to take is the "why's it so short?" I came up with an artsy kind of excuse, along with the name. The limbic system handles emotion and memory, and in the case of a man damaged emotionally to the point of suicide, he makes irrationally hasty decisions based on the emotional damage, just like how the song is irrationally short, haha. BUT. The real reason is because of the technical issues I was having toward the end of the song :X
