Progressive trance track with deep elements, enjoy.

OK

Consider this one of the rare occasions that I review trance songs, in my MAC6 July reviewing spree.

Aside from the fact that I hate the genre with a passion, there are certainly things to enjoy here. The synths and beat are a little cheesy, but you made a lot of different parts work well together.
I don't know what makes it progressive though, I can't really tell the difference from other tracks of the type, and the song in itself doesn't really progress much either, sure it adds layers but it's the same 4 chords repeated over and over again.
I suppose that's the Trance element. Me, it kinda bores :)

But well done, I give you teh 4 out of teh 5.

nightvision responds:

Thanks WinTang, i'm going to try to be more selective with my percussion in the future.

I appreciate the review.

Very good, i like.

Pretty entertaining, doesn't get too boring, except for a little part where i tought it was too repetitive. The rest is very nice though. I really liked the drums/percussion aspect of this song.

The synths were nice but i thought they could be a bit more varied.

Well that's pretty much it, i can't think of anything useful to write anymore so i'll stop here.

Nice work on this song Nightvision.

nightvision responds:

Thank you General! Reflecting upon this track, I think I could have made the bassline a bit more dynamic. This is all a learning experiance though, and my tracks are getting better.

Dont worry, youre review was very useful, take it easy. :P

Gotta go with Ped on this one and sat that Trance of this kind aint my cup of tea. The intro sounds a little early 90's poppish and the levels of certain sounds do take over the mix a little in places, the bass especially. It's all a bit muddy and some seperation would really help this trk come alive. Plenty going on to keep you interested and good for a flash game perhaps, but not for me:)

nightvision responds:

The muddiness is a comment from everyone, I'm going to invest in a new set of headphones, hopefully that will clean up the problem.

Thanks for the input

i'm sick of saying this but...

.. i don't like trance. some nice things going on tho with the melodies. beat was a bit quiet i think, would have had more impact if it was brought forward a bit.
good work tho
;ped

nightvision responds:

Thanks, but what is ";ped"?

Good or bad?

Great

Like alot of other people have told you, this track is great, and very well mixed/mastered, most elements seems smooth and well seperated around the mix, except for the low end.

You see, to me the bass seems a bit too loud and the reverb on all elements with bass makes a lot of rumbling sounds in the bottom of your mix. This can be fixed 2 ways; either turn down or remove some of the most bassy reverbs (bass aren't supposed to have very much reverb, and it's gotta be short) or give the finished track some EQ, turn down by max. 5-7 dB at 2-300 hertz. This is what i call the "muddyness area".

Beside that, some times of the track felt a bit overcrowded to me, a bit too much happenin' at the same time, but that's just my tastes ^_^

Otherwise, great track, keep up the good work.

A sincere 5/5 and 9/10 from me,

T7

nightvision responds:

It sounds like I'm not mastering it with appropriate headphones, because its sounds great on mine and all other music seems to sound tinney.

Maybe its time for some new mastering headphones.
