Author Comments

A mix of the soundtrack for my LD28 entry, Wall of Fingers. Contains five songs, one per level of the game.

The game is available on many flash portals, but you can play it here on Newgrounds here:

Here is the album info taken from Bandcamp:

This is the soundtrack to my Ludum Dare 28 submission (the theme was You Only Get One). You can play it or find more info here: http://www.ltpats.wordpress.com/2013/12/16/wall-of-fingers-my-ld28-submission/

I had a blast working on these! It was mostly written within a few hours late one night, then I finished the percussion and recorded with VOPM the following day . I tried to find ways to best capture the feeling of a wall of fingers chasing you. Since I've been really into weird intervals and odd time signatures, there's a lot of that in here. Inspired by Kid Chameleon, numbers, nature, technical death metal, mathcore, and experimentation.

The songs were written with Guitar Pro 5 with only a percussion track and single instrument track. The MIDI data was then used with several VOPM instruments layered to get the final sound.

Oh yeah and I figured I'd make the time signatures for the songs sequential because why not?

LEVEL 1 - 3/4 (6)
LEVEL 2 - 7/8 (7)
LEVEL 3 - 4/4 (8)
LEVEL 4 - 9/8 (9)
LEVEL 5 - 5/4 (10)

Epic, very fun to listen to, also very intrincate, and complex, with the awesome unexpected time signature shifts, which is what you do best. The only reason this doesn't get a perfect score is that I so wish I could hear this being played with more realistic channels.

Hey, I decided to check your page because of your flash game and your reply. Had you mentioned the game had experimented with time signatures, maybe I would've reviewed it better. Anyway, even listening to this, I realize that your music is really great. Keep making more music :)

LTPATS responds:

Thank you! Sometimes I'm hesitant to get too much into the thought process behind my games at the risk of sounding stuffy or pretentious, but I really appreciate your comment :). I plan on releasing at least 100 tracks this year, and so far I'm up to 8!
