After listening to a string of rather uninspired audio submissions also labeled as "video game music", this was definitely a welcomed treat.
It's far more original than most, and uses less traditional tropes. I like the chord progression and the instrument's choice.

I feel that the intro is too long, and that the whole thing could benefit a lot from being more compact, it would have a better pacing, a better dynamic. Also, the drum beat is simple, and it works, but it sounds too disco, too techno, it's too punchy for this track... I'd suggest making it more light, and adding a bit of variation in the snare's rhythmic pattern. Mix it up a bit, add of bit of variation.
Anyway, it's a good track, and it shows a keen ear.

This is ace! I can definitely see it working seriously well in a game but I can't envisage what genre. Perhaps something like Skyroads haha. Did you ever play that??
It'd probably work in several styles to be honest.
Really like the sounds you chose/made. Some parts remind me of the band The Faint a little bit :)
I was surprisingly ok with the long build up. It didn't seem to get boring, and certainly wouldn't be boring as background music.
The ending was a tad abrupt. Not sure if that's because it's meant to be a loop? Either way it's understandable. Sometimes I CANNOT be crapped with endings. ghaha.
