Song written for my girl. Guitar Instrumental. Not a face-melter, but hopefully a cheek-caresser .

Skill here is obvious, I, for once, feel glad that I don't have much too say.

I really like some licks and phrases, even though the talent is obvious, as far as the composition goes, I might say that some moments are very inspired, whilst other are not so much so, they steer into generic guitar solo tropes, and I'm pointing this out only because my opinion holds such talent should develop as much a sense of uniqueness as possible.

Of course, you cannot do EVERYTHING right, that's what I just said could be interpreted otherwise, considering this piece is a great listen and it showcases both talent and hard work.

Keep up the good work, I always love to hear recordings and real instrument playing on this audio, and this virtuoso quality is definitely 5 star material!

Awesome producing! Really nicely mixed and very easy to listen to.

Cheers,
Finn

Great work! I like that you were able to show virtuosity in this piece without being crazy-energetic throughout; you started out fairly sedate and managed to slowly increase in energy, including a sufficient variety of techniques that the solo didn't get boring.

I would have to disagree with Biggyzoom in saying that I think the tone of the guitar could have been better: it was quite distorted, which didn't jell at all with the smooth, chill background. This got better when you spiced up the background a bit at 3:34. This is a pretty minor quibble, though--and the background works really well otherwise. I especially love the interaction between the guitar and the light touches of synth in the background starting at 3:34.

Very pretty piece, but still exciting in parts!

MrMaximus responds:

Thank you so much. I've learned, from playing with jazz cats, that less can be WAY better. Still trying to apply this into my playing.

I like, I like. That was pretty darn smooth. Some of the licks in there were pretty cool to listen to and the general tonality of the piece is very appealing. I thought your guitar tone was very creative although (I don't know if it's related to your panning) it sounded a bit too unclear to me. Not sure if I'd quite call it a 'cheek-caresser' but a cool track nonetheless.

MrMaximus responds:

I appreciate the feedback. The guitar gets tough for me sometimes - trying to balance the need to spotlight without overtaking everything else. Still learning. Thank you.
