'Twas a terrible night of insomnia. I could NOT sleep at all.
Around 6 this morning I was goofing around in LMMS, my least favorite but most used DAW ever. I got a nice lil groove going with a bass synth. Plopped the Decimator effect (basically compresses the sound to the point that it sounds digitized) on it, got both a bass AND lead sound, LOVED it. Put together a little song, then accidentally put a lo-fi effect on the mix, creating the muffled indie-rock sound you hear here. It's also the reason the waveform is so stupid.
Along with that crap I recorded myself whispering into a vocoder program and that's the weird vocal-esque sounds you hear in the song. I'm saying "I'm still awake, it's been so many hours. Why am I still awake?" Hence the title of the song.
I... uh... I'm tired, can you tell?
So anywho, enjoy "AIR (Why Am I Still Awake) OR The Insomnia Song".
