An impressive build up intro... The introduction to the beat at 0:15 was well put, Introduced the listener to what was coming and helps provide a feel of cohesion to the song as is basis for most things involving trance roots. You flexed the beat in and out very well at the 0:45 area. Provided a hint of the aggressive dubstep feel, especially noticeable at the introduction of the sounds at 2:26. The 8-bit Jumping sound at 2:43 brought back a good memory of the old sonic games... The ending was adequate.
The Only possible flaw in this piece in my opinion is the tempo change at 3:02. Now Generally if you want to get a Kick off feel you either want to do 1 of 2 things. Progress a build-up and bring it down to a near complete stop to resume with a full climax or something of the like to grab the listeners attention and often in this genre provides a hint of adrenaline... Or you want to go a near full speed having your audience in a trance like state or simply having their attention... Slow it down... think of a laser shutting down or a turbine abruptly powering down... to kick start another strong climax tempo.
Here... We have a solid tempo... rather mellow with an 8-bit dubstep feel to it thats been building up since approx 2:25... Having established the feel/climax of this segment at 2:50ish you then bring it down a touch at 2:57... kick it back up at 2:59, Which then increases the tempo for a total of 3 seconds and another "Stop" happens at 3:02.. The "Stops" may be a bit too close together, My advice is to either lengthen the kick up at 2:59 so that the "stops" aren't so close together, or to do away with the slow down at 2:57.
All in all this is an excellent track... Definitely covers the "Trancestep" feel very well with a strong Trance rooting and a touch of dubstep mixed in. A solid work. Great job.
