Music originally by Koji Kondo, re-orchestrated by me.
This is the fourth installment of my series of concert arrangements of the temple music from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. The greatest challenge for the Woodfall Temple was finding the right instrument to fit everything; lacking rainforest animals and a great deal of ethnic percussion, I had to make do with what I had. Even then, though, the majority of this song is primarily comprised of African and Latin American instruments.
There's a drum set at the end, I almost left it out, but I figured the song needed one more variation so I kept it. Otherwise, I have no memory as to what the instruments were, so here's just a partial list:
1 Native American Flute
1 Alto Flute
1 Bass Flute
1 Oboe
2 Bassoons
1 Contrabassoon
1 Timpani
1 Fusion Drum Set
1 Temple Block
3 Baja Drums
1 Bongo Set
1 Rainstick
1 Conga Set
1 Glockenspiel
1 Marimba
2 Violin Sections
1 Viola Section
1 Cello Section
1 Contrabass Section
Again, there could be more. I like this song, but just as their originals in the game, the later two temple re-orchestrations sound better to me than the first two.
This song builds as Link gets closer to the boss. Check it out!
If you have any thoughts, any at all, please share them, and I encourage you to listen to the original, it's really groovy (also makes me think of the Lanayru Mining Facility from Skyward Sword, but that's just me).
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
