Ok, so the first question you may be asking is, "What is the original song, and where can I find it?"
Look no further:

It's a fabulous song, and I suggest you give it a listen!
The first thing you might say while listening to this remix is, "That doesn't sound anything like the original."
Well, I kind of got carried away in that department. I didn't use any MIDI or WAV files from the original, if you are wondering. It's all from scratch (found out the notes by ear), and it turned in to a dance song (what?) for some reason. I even questioned it myself at first, but then realized I should seize the opportunity this genre presents, and experiment a little.
Some of the new things I tried were:
-Drum layering
-Side-chaining (I couldn't get a good VST, so I did it ALL manually via volume automation)
-Pitch-shifting as part of a transition, rather than a part of a solo
-Making more of the synths myself
I also attempted to EQ this better than last time, but I'm not so sure about the results -- it'll sound at least a little muddier than the other songs you'll find in this competition.
If you don't like it, don't worry; I'm not going to remix another xKore song :3 I know I didn't do it justice.
Regardless, I had fun making it and learning new things as always. Thanks for listening!
This is my bonus round entry for NGADM '11.
EDIT: Changed some leveling that was bothering me. Clear your cache!
EDIT AGAIN: Brightened it up a bit.
EDIT X3: Made the bass a little louder.
EDIT X4: Even more bass, but not THAT much. What do you think? Still more?
Good music.

I failed on this song...
You have won. T_T Thumbs up*
Hey, I can't even get past the intro, don't sweat it.
Good mix.
The intro strikes me as a bit odd, and the song certainly never seems to come back to it completely. But it doesn't seem to detract from the music. Maybe it would on a first listen, though afterwards you already know how the song goes and it doesn't matter anymore.
I like the pitch bend that leads into the, melody I guess it would be called. Lifts the notes and then lets them fall into place.
The melody itself did not seem to get old, especially with the piano that came in about half way through, and the solo. As well as other changes I can't currently remember.
All in all it works well.
Yea, that intro is strange, isn't it?
The original song made great use of the piano, so I wanted to try that out a little, but all in all, I think I bloated the mid-high freq. range. Still, maybe it's not too bad.
