Avant-jazz is probably the best term. Dynamic, very syncopated drums, loose, not-so-simple harmony, a complex time signature and other... pretentious thingies. A hint of hand-crafted (and not very complicated) synthy goodness at the end.

Instruments used (all of them are free and damn good):
Muted Trumpet - http://mihaisorohan.blogs pot.com/2010/12/christmas -late-sampletank-freebie.
html
Brush drumkit (the rock patch) - http://www.pettinhouse.co m/html/download.html
DirectBass - http://www.pettinhouse.co m/html/download.html
Acoustic Piano - the original site is gone, just google "Yannleo Accentor X1 GP1"
The synthy synth - http://www.vst4free.com/f ree_vst.php?plugin=Alieno &id=329

http://fiftyninety.fawmer s.org - this piece (and hopefully the next 49 tunes) is a part of this songwriting challenge that started a few hours ago. Well, for me it's more of a composing/producing challenge.

(1/90)

And now back to exams and job-hunting. Goddamn.

The genre I love :)

There is so much I love about this song. The way it finds a way to flow nicely through the organized conflict of the note spectrum (I have no better way to describe this through my limited vocabulary).

The drums are incredible too :). The filtered section interacts perfectly with the synths.

I love the way you play with the time signatures, especially the occasional rapid snare and/or other drum part closing towards the end of the beat.
I don't know if I listened to this correctly but if I'm not mistaken this is chiefly in 13/4 which is a pretty nice beat to use IMO.

You are a musical talent. No doubt.
