First, a technical note. I usually use higher quality sounds, but my computer has been acting up. These sounds don't sound bad at all though, so here it is.

A week ago, my fifteen year old dog Mandi had to be taken to the emergency vet. She was running into everything, wouldn't eat or drink, and was panting like crazy. When she was taken to the vet, I was at home, and on the verge of tears for hours. The mere thought of loosing someone I had known for basically my entire life, I couldn't handle it for long.

And that's where this piece came from.

I wrote this piece for Mandi. I had sat down at my piano and wrote the piano version of this piece. I then added in all of the other instruments, and this is what I wrote. And the title, it came easy. Mandi could only be described in one word: faithful.

And for those wondering, my dog is still alive. The vet told us that she suffered a rare case of going blind overnight. Now that it's been a week, she walks around the house almost as if nothing happened. At first, she was walking against walls and people's legs to help get around, but now she just does her thing like she did before. It has my family a bit confused, it almost seems as if she can see, but she still strays slightly off course and runs into something occasionally. We think that she has just gotten over the anxiety of suddenly losing her sight and remembers where everything is placed.

I'm so thankful that she's still a part of my life.

Update: So my dog is no longer blind. Not sure how that happened, but apparantly she had only temporary blindness. She's doing well and bring much love and joy in my family's life. :)
