"Nice Twist"

date: January 18, 2006

If you take out the repetitive stringy things and give the piece more of a flowing, ominous feel, this could work really well as an Ambient piece. And you know how much I like Ambient. ;)

Otherwise, as a trance piece, this is a nice variation on the original. I like the breaks, and the rolling glitchy things are really cool. The little half-time thing could've used maybe some more work . . . maybe some more variation on the background stuff? Not sure . . .

I still think the original Fleets is the best song you've ever done. ;)

I know it's been a while, haha. Myself? Well, I've got some BIG projects coming up soon . . . If you want to stay updated on my music, add http://myspace.com/tedjohnston to your list of bookmarks, and if you have Myspace, add me!

Cheers.

WOW, Ted! LOOONG time no see my friend, where you been man? Back to review my fleets remake eh? Haha, I'm glad you liked it, but you think the original is better? I figured I had improved every aspect with this remake, the synths are better, the arrangement makes more sense(except for placing the slow-mo part at the end, that was dumb), the mastering is 1000 percent better, I dunno. I agree the half-time could have used more work.. I was getting tired boo-hoo, hehe. Anyway, thanks for coming back, now on to some more quality Reason tracks!

"fleets make me itch"

date: January 15, 2006

I'm pretty sure DJ-Immune covered everything and then wrote a book. So I'm just gonna play with your nuts and make you chuckle bits of Ross all over that dude with the white face. Unfortunately, I only have 4min38sec.

Better get to work.

Author's Response:

Just chew your hand and start imbibing as much blood as possible. And nice reference to the extremist. In case you didn't know Newgrounds, The extremist is a movie. That you will never see. Unless we become famous one day, and a cult following demands to watch our early works, then you might get it on DVD-HD or BLU-RAY, whatever is the old stuff when this all happens.

"PARAGRAPH TIME!"

date: January 10, 2006

I think it is time to leave some.... PARAGRAPHS!

The whole beginning to end clav you had going on their might of not been noticed by any other artist, only because there were bleeps and drums and Automations to keep it refreshing and original, making it not repetitive at all. The bleeping melody was nice a different thne what you made on your first Fleets, which was a master prize in my mind. The drums and hats were stunning, as usual. Those claps that sort of echoed was somethign new that not every song has.

That new part of the song where the bleeps switched with the clavs was brilliant. It was like the clavs took the place where the bleeps were and the bleeps took the clavs place. And then that bass, wow, that bass.. IT just stunningly surprises you while your focusing on the swithc of Bleeps and Clavs and then all of the sudden it comes in.

I'd say this song reminded me of stars. No, not nay song named stars, but the stars above us at night. Those chimes that were in their really chimed their way into my heard :P

The best part was at the end where the tempo when alllll ssslllooow mmootttiiiooonn oooonnnn uuussss. That might of been one of the coolest things I have heard in awhile. I've never heards clavs go so slow liek what you just did. Not only was it diverse, but this might of topped off the older Fleets.

N... since your in the remix mood, you should remix El Amor Si Muere... People need to hear thqat song. It is surprisngly GREAT and I am the only one who reviewed it. Great song, great stuff my Conquistador.

And if your on, can you swing over to my Unlesh the Chains song? My last song on this account and it's very significant to me... IT should be on the top of the Techno section :D Lots o' people have voted for it.. At least over 20 by now.

And I also got Featured artist this past week... Man, am I glad I got some kind of recognition... I am starting to get known! HOORAY!

Thinx for making music... It's a true delight and entertainment to hear your new songs! I am going to try and get you a record deal :P

Author's Response:

Wow, the longest review you've ever left me, I think!

I'm glad you noticed all the little subtle changes I made, and that you liked the xplosive bass entrance, haha that was cool when I wrote that. You really do make me blush with some of the things you write here though, haha, I'm honored you think so highly of me! And if you get me a record deal... man I'll friggin give you a thousand hugs haha

date: January 10, 2006

I love the way you redid this track. I put up a couple of tracks. Please feel free to stop by and review. BTW, how is the track we talked about coming?

Author's Response:

I've been very busy lately, but now I'm starting to free up some time, I'll drop by your page later on this week and review you, you've been a constant reviewer and I owe you some :) Thanks for the great review and score, and I haven't forgotten about the track you sent me, just I've been so damn busy. Going to get started on that soon, I want to make my first video game song already!
