Nice job. I enjoy how you differentiated the sounds at 40 seconds.
Not much to say about this. Everyone knows this song, and you might be sick of hearing it, so I'll just get my interpretation out there and watch it get 0.00 because people hate 8-bit music...

Nice
Well, with MAJOR work you COULD only have 4 channels in there. But that will take some time. I used to use a program called GXSCC for 8-bit remixes but that was a while ago and its too easy to make 'em. (Drag and Drop).
Well, I think you did ok. : )
GSXCC is the bane of the 8-bit community. It sounds awful and is just a MIDI-replacing program, and the instruments are MSX, not NES - not playable on the NES either, even if it only had four channels. Plus you can't do funky arpeggios like I did here. 8-D
MIDI FILE... CHEESY VST's...
I will NOT call you out here... but I think that you know as well as I think that I know... what's going on here.
I used a MIDI as a base, yes, but that's to ensure accuracy. I made many changes such as vibratos, arpeggios, and chord changes. And 'cheesy' VSTs? I use Ploque ChipSounds, which emulates [among others, but I only use] the 2A03 chip that the NES uses. If this were only four channels (I would if I could but for a song like this it's damn impossible) it would be playable on an NES. I don't see how you can call the real thing 'cheesy.'
good
