This is just a little Toccata I made in the style of Bach, a little fun :)

I like it, but...

It sounded far too much like you just took Bach's Toccata & Fugue In D Minor, cut it shorter, and moved a note here and there. It seems more like "something I took from Bach and messed around with" than just "something I made in the style of Bach". Don't get me wrong, this isn't a bad thing to do, especially when you begin composing, but this is too similar that it makes its hard to look at it as your own individual piece. If you want to make something in the style of Bach, by all means do so, but there should be more individuality to it.

Good luck!

SaxeCoburg responds:

Haha, fair point! This wasn't too serious a composition at all, mainly testing my notation and new Organ synth. You're right though, I think 'Bach rip-off' may be a better description than 'in the style of Bach'. Thanks for the response :)
