COMPOSER'S NOTE:
I uploaded this track a day or so ago, but after a very helpful review I felt a few things needed fine-tuning. So I touched up things here and there to make it a more listenable experience (I wonder if I succeeded?); though the differences are slight, they are there.

Sorry for all those who liked and downloaded the original; I'm not in the habit of taking down songs and reuploading them. However, NG for some odd reason would not let me just edit the audio to put a new MP3 in, so there ya have it.

Good stuff. The tune is simple, but good to listen to. I'm actually going to nab this for a game project I'm working on. Unfortunately it's just a little thing for a class, so it won't be getting a release, but I thought I'd give my thanks !

Good times :)

Imagine being a composer during the good old Nintendo/Sega times, when games were actual games, and not just graphics. Some of the most memorable video game music I've heard is from that era; Mario, Sonic, Zelda, Monkey Island etc..

I think your music could have done well during those times :)

I'm glad to say that my ears aren't sore at all after listening to this loop for some time. Similiar tracks I've heard by others has made my brain all mushy after a couple of runs. I don't know if that's a common problem when using these kinds of sounds, but kudos to you for not giving me earbleed.

Really good job Emperor, I wish you all the best, and hope that you'll get featured in many flash games! ;)

EmperorCharlemagne responds:

In a time when man were men, and games were the stuff of legends....

Thank you for the kind words of encouragement, Tomppaah.
At the very least I try to make sure before I release anything that it doesn't hurt the ears on multiple listens (I actually had to tweak this one a bit to make so that wasn't the case), and I'm glad to see that I in some measure managed to do so.
I wish nothing but the best for you too!

hmm

not as impressed with the melody part of this one and i think you used a megaman instrumentation cause it sounds like it.

But its not bad.

EmperorCharlemagne responds:

Ya win some ya lose some.
I like it :P

I didn't use instrumentation as much as I experimented with what I could get out of the different soundwaves (I had to split up the square wave into tiny tiny pieces to get the effect of the main melody), and I liked heard.

Thanks for the input!

This is cool!!!

Charlemagne! Good to see your still at it! This song has alot going on as far as the technical side goes. Very cool melodies involed. I'd like to say that I know for a fact that tis was a challenge to make. I never tried to make a 8 bit song before and after hearing this I might have to try to give it a go! Im sure someone will be putting this in a flash game because it's a great piece.

EmperorCharlemagne responds:

We can hope!

Thanks for the praise; I always in some way feel like I get better at this with every song I make. Challenge is good; sometimes your best efforts are the ones you have to really work on (though the opposite can be true too!).
