Hm...

The song does sound poppy, but an easy way to fix that is a quicker, more upbeat drum beat. Also, less major melodies.
However, this is a well written song, and I actually enjoyed it a bit. Everyone sounds really well, and this is a great song. :D

This isn't punk. Sorry.

This seems like a really great song. But this is waaaaay too poppy to be punk. Punk in my opinion is supposed to be raw, angry, and sometimes catchy. But as I'm continuing to listen to this, it sounds more and more like a christian rock song.

Owen-Powell responds:

I definitely appreciate your opinion, but who says punk cant be poppy?
Theres plenty of pop punk bands out there that play along with the more hardcore punk bands and do just fine..
In fact we've played several shows with bands like The Vandals, The Expendables, and Guttermouth, and been just as warmly received as those bands themselves.
I definitely know what you mean when you say poppy, however, I like to refer to that "pop" sound as just being more melodic than the usual punk bands (something a bit closer to No Use For A Name, or some other Fat Wreck bands).
We are generally referred to as a Pop Punk Rock band. Unfortunately that section doesn't exist on New Grounds, so i picked the next closest, the core genre we're generally put in.
Also, I'm not quite sure where you got the Christian Rock part from, but i guess everyone is entitled to their opinions.

Thanks for giving me yours, and taking the time to listen :)
