"Rejoice in the hymn of Gehenna, for it is the place to which we are all going."

This is a nifty little two minute battle loop. I was trying to make it sound as tragic as possible, yet pack as much 'punch' in for a battle-like spirit. Hope it is enjoyed, feel free to use it for your VG's or whatever...

Just short of pure awesomeness.

No really, I would have loved this song so much more if it didn't cut off at the end. It'd be better if it had repeated 0:40-1:00 (just the piano) and finished strong with a piano solo. (just my 2 cents on this song).

Strong, but just almost strongest.

I like the soft, fast-paced bass drum you put in the background somehow. It's the force that compels the song forward, building it up slowly. However, I don't really see the peak in the song much. It just keeps going on and on. I wish you could put some more percussion or lucid instrument (like oboe or flute would do) to create a peak that would stress some intensity of tragedy a little more.

Anyway, it's a really nice job you've done.

Oooooo

There is something quite beautiful about how intense this piece is, but also how tragic it is too. I feel as though the hero is struggling to get through the battle.

I enjoyed the percussion somewhat. I don't think it should be more intense, but I do feel as though more percussion could be used in certain points to accent necessary moments.

Very nice melodic ideas. Nothing fancy or too easy to remember, but it communicates the piece well, and that is what it needs to do.

Seems quite good

But it doesn't reach the epic level for me. It has the tragic note, but not strong enough to really shake things up inside.
In my opinion you should make it a little faster - brutal. The piano is good though.
And as previous was said - the drum issue should be solved.

Good luck, this is worth it!

iHeartQuistis responds:

Well, the drums were meant to be subtle. I didn't want them to be the driving force, just the underlying pulse to the entire piece.

Very good!

Now this is the kind of song i would really hear in a movie! the kind of scene that makes you think "hmmm the only thing that really makes this scene good is the epic music!" I really enjoyed listening to this song but there are a few changes that would just make this sound movie quality! Like for instance, you have some kind of percussion or bass in the background: switch that for some nice snare drums with some reverb would sound epic! Your bass is also on and off in this song, you should make it better and always there, just at different volume levels! also make it a song by putting some intro and outro! its not that hard to do really, but really changes the mentality of the listener.

Peace!

iHeartQuistis responds:

Hm, I was aiming for it being a loop... which is why I didn't exactly configure an intro & outro. And yes, the bass is probably due to my current headphones. I have a hard time EQ'ing bass with these things.
