A Fallen City

I created this to be used as the credits theme on an upcoming game. The main inspiration behind the music was a sense of defeat, like losing a battle. It helped to think of a dystopian future where a city lies in ruins after an apocalyptic battle, hence the name. Constructive criticism is always welcome, thanks for listening.

Quite mournful

I think that there is a clash here between the melody and the backing track here, since the harp / music box don't seem to gel too well with the backing sound, which does feel like it is taken away from the original context there.

I think that you've got a scope to improve the writing and you can certainly bring thins piece on a little more, by adding more in the way of drum beats, since that's always a decent way of bringing the whole piece together.

Not a bad effort, but it does require refining.

I listened to it quite a few times in a row, but noticed that I never really came up with anything to say about it. It wasn't the best that I heard and it wasn't anywhere close to being bad by any means. To me it just seems like another forgettable submission that I'll hear many times again in the future when I listen to the very familiar sounds. It's nearly impossible to create an original sound though.

The quality was good and the song itself was good, but like I mentioned before kind of forgettable. Perhaps a few more different sounds could have made me more interested in the submission. I don't really know about this one to be honest though.

Woah

Very realistic, I loved it to the fullest, it sounds professional and realistic and I can imagine this in the best of games, rather than up and coming flash.
The bells and piano were very good and the dulcimer-like intrument sounded wonderful, yet too low. Volume, not pitch.
The drums, well, It's a bit hard to say, there was only the snare, I know it's a credits song but i suggest you add maybe a high-hat or something to make it more interesting.
Overall, Awesome and Inspiring, gr8 job!

Pretty relaxing.

Love the intro, great piano, wish it had more of a role in the piece. Started off a touch too quietly, but in general what it's playing is nice and dystopic.

The drum comes in way too strong, and throughout the piece is a touch too loud. It needs a little reverb or something on it just to give it a little more dimension and make the end of the drumroll a little more natural, but in general it definitely needs to be turned down or the rest of the parts need to be turned up, because it's a little too dominant for something that plays almost the same thing throughout. In much the same way, the Glock is too strong in relation to the other instruments, and its loudness/brightness kind of detracts from the otherwise despondent atmosphere you've got going on.

That being said, I thought the trumpets were really cool, they had a nice melody and harmony to them. If they and the piano/guitar did a bit more I think the piece would improve a lot in general. The subtle introduction of the strings and the brass was nicely done, and again they're got some really nice harmonies to them. The highest trumpet notes around 2:02 could be brought out a little more because what they're playing sounds cool.

The string harmonies nearer the end are probably the highlight of the piece, especially in the 2:59-3:07 area, but I think the glock does overpower them a little. So again, either that needs to be turned down or the strings turned up. Piano ending the piece is nicely done, though the last arpeggio felt a little muddy. In general, you've got the feel of this nailed down nicely, but I think some of your levels could definitely use a second look.

Nice

I loved it, it's the perfect theme for a credit or a game over scene or picture, it is very sad, like you said, it has a sense of defeat, i liked that, the piano looks very good for this kind of song...

I can immagine the destroyed city, it's a perfect music... It gave me the feeling of a winner warrior, but, his whole life was destoyed, i can't wait to play the game!!

Congratulations, man!! Keep it up w/ the good work, you can make even better songs!!!
