Katlean prime redo 2010

Author Comments

Katlean prime was the theme for the undead hermitage located in the desert of owls in the book of the time crafter (unpublished) if there would have ever been a game made for it, these plans are still in a stage of developement or rather asleep even though the script is pretty much finished.

Fixes:
-removed the previous snares and inserted the accurate original (still had to manually redo it though) And also made it sound as realistic as possible without ruining the style.
-redid the sharp synth finally in the stead of the vocal.
-made the secondary background a synthetic plunk again instead of the rhode square.
-fixed the transpos to fit the original.
-remastered.

Changes:
-changed a few notes here and there, mostly in the background with the vocals.
-added a sharp synth for the atmosphere in the second part.
-added a jazzy organ to build upon the track.

Good variation

A nice short little piece, this one has a lot of good variation with a wide range of instruments and could still be used for a variety of fantasy themes, allowing flash authors great freedom in the choice of how they wish to build their scenes around this music.

Personally, I think some sort of pirate or fantasy setting, that shows a lot of chances to build suspense here. Perhaps the piece could be made a little longer, tailored to the needs of the particular artist, if they wanted something a little more suspenseful, for example, before you carry on with the mysterious overtones in the foreground over the top of the melody.

seeing as im a freethinker (aside from a freelancer) with emphasis on free.

Anyone can use my music (like the licence says, naturally) and do with it what they want aslong as they dont make that despicable thing called money with it. So anyone can make it longer or make it into an actual pirate theme :)

Ofcourse if people have specific requests ill make a whole new track for em, free of charge ofcourse bound by soley if i have the time for it.

Though each and every track i upload may be considered a full song or loop, many can also be considered as a demonstration of a theme. :)

Thanks for your loyal review(s) again man.
Looking forward for more.

The sound choice in general is pretty good; you've got the organ and choir sounds, and the more ominous-sounding synths which really help set a vaguely creepy theme. The drum was something I had a bit of a problem with; at the start the cymbal sound kind of cut through the sytnh a little too much (though this fixes itself as the texture gets thicker), and at points the beat itself seemed out of time later in the piece. And if at 0:38-:40ish, that's meant to be a drumroll? (I couldn't really tell) it does sound quite messy as a sound.

I agree with Haggard that it takes some getting used to, which probably does help your case as it's not meant to give an overall comfortable air. The way the different instruments come in and out, sometimes in a kind of surprising way, as well as some of the more unusual harmonies, helps the shock-factor a little, where sometimes you're just left with the lowest synths and sometimes you've got every single sound going. It perhaps could have used a few more synths here and there just to keep the variety up a little more, but in general this was a pretty good piece.

Nice, man!!

I really liked the song, it's pretty short, but i think it's very good for a Video- Game loop... The imagination you had to make this was great, it's very detailed and kind of epic, because of the piano in the back...

It kind of remembers me of The Legend of Zelda, in one Dungeon, it has a heroic style and it has a creepy style, so, it's perfect for the final boss in a cave or in a dungeon...

The song remembered me of a RPG, where you walk like walking to nowhere, it's very nice to listen to this song.

You could add more minutes, using more piano and otherthings, it would really sound better and greater, but anyways, i liked the song style and you made a nice Video Game loop, congratulations!! Keep it up!!

This song has a very creepy sound to it. Not creepy like I'm scared for my life, but like something that you might expect to hear in a Halloween related cartoon show or perhaps flash submission.

It was a pretty good song all around and I enjoyed listening to it. I felt that it had sort of a week ending that could have been a bit stronger. The song itself was also a bit short and maybe could use some sort of creepy sound effects like a wolf howling or something of that sort.

err no no adds to this song, afterall its based on something already and there are no wolfs in katlean.

But im glad you liked it. :) So thanks :)

I really like this song

For some strange reason this song reminds me of "Beetlejuice". The piano sounds a lot like it would come straight from that theme song.
Maybe it's the atmosphere that this song creates that reminds me of that cartoon series... it's just as creepy as the cartoon.

I like this song very much, but it takes some time to get used to it. When I listened to it the first time I wasn't too happy about the constant "stopping" of the melodies. Now I am listening to this song the 6th or 7th time in a row and the way the song "stops" the melodies really grew on me. I realized that the atmosphere becomes even more creepy when we can hear the piano only every now and then. It's just as if I was walking through a big house which appears to be haunted and I sometimes can hear some weird noises.
It'd be more creepier if I hear the noises only sometimes, because I would be frightened, just waiting, when will those noises start again?

I really like this song.

Calamaistr responds:

Theres no piano in this track but i think you mean the synth tonals, they sound a bit like extremely lowfi piano but i personally they sound a bit more like a dot effect guitar.

I personally like the jazzy organ in this piece. :)

And yea its creepy, afterall its based on a undead' hermitage. ;)
