Ok, I know I'm a judge so I'm not meant to submit, but I just couldn't stop working on this one - it was so much fun!

This is a guitared version of the "Electric Level" from the game "Jazz Jack Rabbit". I based it on a Funk first, then Reggae, then Funk Again.

I used -
- My Gibson Les Paul BFG (Sexy as fuck)
- Audacity, Guitar Rig 4 and Fruity Loops at the computer section
- BehrINGer sound equipment
- Fender Frontman 15r Amp
- Zoom G2 Multi effect
- Wylde wah pedal

Damn, I remember this game!

The melody reminded about it to me! The game was hilarious, but back to the song.

I really liked it, it was freaking great! Sounds really funky, specially the begining, and when the guitar goes in, it gives the a song a badass feeling lol

Good job, man. Looking forward to more of your stuff!

thecoreman responds:

Yeah, I loved those sugar junkie rabbits. Thanks for the review, it's was just the feeling I was trying to create, funky at first, the a little more badass, the a reggae beat (if you noticed), the a sudden break, then back to funk with some improv solos over the regular riff.

I'm glad you're looking forward, and next week I'll have tons of my band's recording coming up, so you could check these out (it's also related to our PMs, since I play and sing simultaneously).

Thanks a lot for the review!

P.S. - I've discovered that game tunes can be awesome to play - Mario, Pokemon gameboy, this Jazz Jack Rabbit thing, and so forth... The best one thou, is that super lame Dos game called Alley Cat.

Some improvements suggested.

I remember that game, long long time ago on acer. It was fun as a kid. Don't remember the music though. The beginning is very good and mellow, sounds mesh well, until the electric guitar comes in. The guitar's distortion is too much, a cleaner elec guitar would flow more easily and not feel as harsh on the ears. It doesn't sound bad, very jazzy, but it would do better if the amplitude is lowered a bit or the distortion is lowered. Some parts of the guitar need quantizing, but other than that, a thumbs up to this. No muddy frequencies or overpowering sounds, and the levels are very good.

thecoreman responds:

"Some parts of the guitar need quantizing"? I don't know what quantizing is, damnit. I'm such a simpleton :P

Thanks for the review, I might even remake it someday with better guitar work. I'll lower the guitar's distortion if I do that, thanks for the tip. I think it's actually more the EQing of it then the actual levels of distortion... I only have the demo of guitar rig, so I can't really check it, but I'll work on the quality of my sound more in the future.

Thanks for the review, anyways! Much appreciated!
