Just genuine rock. The hardest song for me to make... that's for sure.

Have fun with it.

Those other reviews are intimidating in length. I'm just going to say that this is awesome, I've been scouring the audio portal for stuff worth downloading, and this is the third song I've found. (Out of like 50 checked)

5/5,

and I'll come back tomorrow and 5 it again to hopefully counter those pesky 0ers ;)

Dr-Slump responds:

Thank you very much Raticate! I gave my soul to this one... really hard to make. Your support is very welcome!

Yeah, the guys below are from the review request club. They surely are efficient, but they review almost profissionally. So it's always nice to have someone like you to express what you were really feeling. Thanks again! Anything you want to ask or need, just ask me :)

Good basic rock structure

While it doesn't go and make me want to stop all i am doing to listen to this, it is a very well put together tune.

But because this is built on a fairly basic structure it has some problems with sounding a bit repetitive. The bass part and rhythm guitar get a little drowned out at times with the solo part. The solo's fun sounding.

The other problem is the software instruments themselves. They sound a little funky and not in the good way. But i know how much of a bitch dealing with software instruments can be so i wont give you to much crap about it lol Because they sound good still.

Not to bad =3

Thanks for the review kirby! Your review club surely proved itself very efficient! The 2 times I posted my songs in there I got 3 or more reviews. Thanks!

I know it's kinda repetitive but oh well... what I loved about this song was the bridge for the solo, and the solo itself. They really put me in a good mood. Thanks for the review!

Not really rock

It's a good sounding piece, but I'm not sure that I'd class it as part of the Rock genre. You've got a good use of the synthesisers and the guitars don't really seem 'rock' enough for me.

I like the drum beat, it's got a good pace and the bass guitar seems a little drowned out with the rest of the track. If you gave that more power and then put the guitar in for a powerful solo, before you made that sound too synthesised, it would sound a lot better of a track.

Dr-Slump responds:

Well I tried my best coop83. But I'll keep in mind what you said. It took me at least 20h to do this song. I placed the notes one by one on the piano roll, modified their velocity etc. It was a pain in the ass, but rewarding. I'm very proud of what I made. Thanks for the review!

Very nice

While listening to this I thought I was listening to some Deep Purple or Led Zepplin stuff, because the quality and the song is so awsome. This has to be among the top tracks for quality, it's just amazing.

Anyway, the song itself is amazing as well. Even though it's over 5 minutes long and it doesn't contain any vocals it never gets boring listening to it.
The build up may be a bit slow, though. The volume is turned down all the way and only rises very slowly. It takes over a minute before the song "really" starts (ie we can hear the music at full volume).
But we get a very nice reward for the long wait. The song that follows is just great. The solo guitar plays some very nice stuff here.

However, the drums could be worked out a bit better. The drums play only one riff during the beginning, a faster riff in the middle part and a mid tempo riff during the end part which sounds similar to the first riff. This can get repititve towards the end.

In my opinion it sounds better if every instrument gets a little "solo part" as this takes away from the repititveness of a single instruments.

Dr-Slump responds:

Thanks Haggard! Yeah, thinking critically about my song, I think I have the same opinion as you do. About the solo for each instrument... yeah, that's an interesting idea for a new song. Challenging, surely. I'm going to wait for christmas or something for a new pc. This one is almost 5 years old. 512 ram... it's hard to work with that, i can tell you that.

You guys at the review request club are really doing a great job! Keep up the good work. You guys make NG a happier place.
