I was making a game called "Dark Sol" using RPG Maker. I decided I would use FamiTracker for it. This is for the title screen. The name "Dark Sol" comes from an artifact of the same name in the game. It involves mystery, suspense, and horror. The story revolves around vampires. . . The Dark Sol (Sun) is the power that a certain group of vampires seek to turn the Earth into a world of darkness. It is up to the protagonist, Detective Grey Dawn, to uncover the truth about this artifact.

I tried to capture a sense of darkness and mystery in this piece to fit the themes of the game.

Pretty good.

I really like this. But it sounds very much like some of the music from Golden Sun 2 in Igima. Is that where you got the idea from?

OmegaManZX responds:

No, not intentionally. If anything, I was going for something very Castlevania-ish. But I do like Golden Sun, though.

Nice 8-bit awesomeness. Definitely fits the theme. I'll have to try out that game when it's finished :D

OmegaManZX responds:

Thanks! I'll let you know when it's finished. Unfortunately, RPG Maker 2000 is outdated, and I'm having inspiration-block. Then there's the problem of where to upload the game, etc. If I ever get Flash I could make a game to put on Newgrounds. If I ended up doing that, though, it would probably turn into a platformer.

Oh well, at least 8-Bit graphics will be easier to make than the 16-bit I was originally going with.
