This night (it's 23:30 here :P) i created something that turned out pretty well i think.
It's been a while since i made my last jazz song and that's a good thing, because my last one sucked :P
If you want to hear it, it's called ''Piano & Sax V2''. I didn't give names to songs back then.
Anyway, thanks for listening!
Please rate and please review. Please?
-Edit-
I listened to Marks-a-lot and i think the song is a bit better now.
-Edit-
I listened to Alternativesolution and i think the song is (again) a bit better now :P

Very nice

And here was some nice sound you have going on I think you do some nice quality work this particular piece feels like it could be longer and extended a bit more just an idea regardless you have done some fancy work here

~~SUGGESTED IDEAS~~
Make it longer just a tad

Very nice sounding bit o jazziness but overall feels like it really is missing something to make it stand out

needs something to stand out and hook you into the song instead seems a wee bit repetitive :s

7/10

FairSquare responds:

Yeah, i get what you mean.
And it's way to repetitive.
Thanks for the review!

Chicago style

This song is very Chicago style Jazz song, the type you might hear at bar or club. The smooth sax and piano create a very relaxing feel to the music, and lineup of instruments compliment each other well. The brass instruments in the background covering the off beats really give this a Chicago style feel as previously mentioned. I was kinda disappointed with how much this piece repeats itself. Variation is one of the key elements of Jazz, yet most of the riffs seem to just repeat themselves.

Chicago jazz is typically improvised, done by musicians who make up there parts on the spot so that no two measures are ever the same. Here though the only variation seems to be in which instruments are playing rather than what they're plying. I feel that kinda wears away at the whole Jazz aspect, but maybe I'm being overcritical, maybe this song is intended as simple background music for something, certainly the smooth mellowness of the instruments is there, but alot of the parts are played staccato, and I feel the sax in particular could have benefited alot from something smoother. Either way it's a pretty good song, very mellow easy listening, but it could be better.

FairSquare responds:

Yeah, you're right.
At this stage of my music production i didn't really spend much effort on a song, so it's kinda repetitive.
Thanks for the review!

eh not so good -_-

repetitive sax, monotony in sounds....the percussion always calm...eh not you best by far it terms of catchyness and work evolved

FairSquare responds:

Lol, i thought it was pretty good :P
Maybe you just have to be in the mood for this song, but it's also possible that you're right.
Anyway, thanks for the review! :-)

Pretty good.

I enjoyed the song for the most part. I thought it built up rather nice, but there might have been a couple of places where it was kind of messy. Maybe not though because it didn't sound too bad. Other than it sounding a little cluttered in a few spots I still think you managed to get the sound to work for you. I think the ending was done very well.

Overall - A decent song that may be cluttered a little bit, but the overall quality is good.
