This does IREM justice!
It really sucks that there are too few people that remember that company and what they accomplished. It sucks even more that they closed down last year. I mean, aside from R-Type, they also made Moon Patrol, Gunforce, In The Hunt, Kickle Cubicle, and Ninja Baseball Batman. With that being said...
Instrumentation: I really love the samples that you used here, which enhanced the original's easy listening feel while giving it an identity of it's own. This can be summed up as progressive, dream, and melodic Trance meets Ambient. Nothing else needs to be said about this part.
Composition: While this uses the score of the original song, it takes enough liberties to keep it unique and fresh. On the other hand, I'm glad that you didn't take the score and make it into something barely recognizable. I mean, what you did with the end was really clever and it kept a nice rhythm.
Other: Aside from being a remix, there's not much I can complain.
