I have made some small changes to the audio, most of which you won't be able to really notice because of how small they are. So if you downloaded it, you may want to again.

I must say something before you vote on this. It is not supposed to be happy in any sense. It is supposed to by sad, very sad. So if you don't like how sad it is and don't have enough appreciation to like that kind of music, please don't give this a zero. I already know that someone did, and that is really insulting. So please, if you can't appreciate it, don't vote. For all of you that can, please be honest. I have a possible story to paint from this song, but you may see something different. I would love to here what you think, so please, vote fairly, comment, and feel the emotion to your enjoyment.

-------------------------

A hero had his return home
From fighting where there was strife
The things he saw
What he had experienced
He thought the grief was over
He opened the door with a foreboding feeling
No one was home
The kitchen bare
The rooms lifeless
Nothing was left anywhere
His family was gone
Had they long forgot him?
No.
A burnt letter showed that so
With only "Dear Hero" remaining

Still gets me.

I favorited this, what? A few years ago? And it still gives me the same feeling it did. That's brilliant. Love the lament.

PenguinSam responds:

Oh wow, thank you! I'm glad this piece made an impact, it means I'm doing something right to help make this world a better place. :)

All Good

all the songs with <PS> in the title are great, ever think about making ambient music?

PenguinSam responds:

Yes I did!

Good work

It resembles the Gothic 3 soundtrack a little, which I like. As you say, it's quite sad and melancholic - which I, again, enjoy very much. Nice composition, could work very well in a sad, mysterious movie.

The recording is a bit quite and distant, but maybe that's just the effect you were trying to achieve.

Nice.

PenguinSam responds:

I see what you are saying about the recording, although it is technically an audio due to the fact that this is a computer generated audio, but I think it helps this song out like you say. Thanks.

epic

phenomenal workl! can definitely envision a hero left standing amidst the destruction....

i envy people who can write piano compositions that evoke so much emotion, while sounding both modern and classical at once. well done.

PenguinSam responds:

When I was writing this, I thought someone would sa that it was epic, and would you look at that. I really hope you actually voted and not just responded. :) Thanks for the huge complement, it means a whole lot.
