Solus- TD (Jump Drive Mix)

I decided to make a club mix of something.

I couldn't think of any melodies or anything like that.

And then there was an idea. I wonder when you'll realize what that idea was. Probably about halfway through unless you're very observant.

Anyways.

Yes, I know it's simplistic. That was the intent.

And yes, I love IDM drums.

I'm back...

Thought I'd drop into NG to download some new electronic goodies for a series of levels I am test running and needed some bg gaming music. Thus, I figured I would drop by your playlist to pay tribute and after listening to a bunch I finally felt compelled to review again. I almost backed out of this song...about halfway thru-lol.

Yep thought I might have noticed a similarity a third way thru, like the key scale was similar to something I have heard. And then I heard the classic TD melody and my brain went "Oh yeaaahhhh" Now I remember. Frankly, it sorta saved the song for me. Kinda cool hearing an artist's own remixes of songs that were popular on a an epic scale. For example: Junkie XL has like a hundred remixes of their song Today.

Anyway, sorry to say but nothing to special about this track other than my subtle opposition to the some what over repetitive phase pad. The master compression feels like it is squeezing the HELL out of everything too.

But like you said you were bored. Cool mashup! Believe it or not I enjoyed it.

Keep it wildstyle!

-5/5
-8*s cuz I'm a realist. :p

SolusLunes responds:

Oh, I realize the song wasn't really even all that good. :D

But hey, I need to do more self-remixes.

Solid

Haha when TD popped up that made it for me. Nice mix. However, though I'm not too familiar with club mixes, the lead up into that was a liittle too repetitive to me - I feel it needs something else there leading up to TD.

SolusLunes responds:

Definitely. However, I have no intention of ever coming back to this song so...

sounds familiar...

it actually reminds me of technotronic soul >.>;

SolusLunes responds:

You know, I had an updated, much improved version of Technotronic Soul, and I don't know what I did with it or where it is...

i really enjoyed this.

The the synth that waves back in and out is perfect... got a lot of depth to it, i really like how full / yet distroted it sounds.

The score was well written.

I honestly don't have criticism for this piece. i even downloaded it.

5-ed

SolusLunes responds:

Whoo more downloads.

I fucking win. :D

Supreme Commander?

Thats where I remember that voice....plus like you said its not meant this song isnt supposed to be "OMg THIIS SONG IS SO 1337!!!!111!!111!!1" its just a song spawned from boredom....

SolusLunes responds:

Actually, no, but you're pretty close. The voice is from Sins of a Solar Empire.

Yay for boredom songs. :D
