Phoenix Chronicles - Sands of the Cold (Ep1)

After almost a weeks work and passing around with MaestroRage and others, I bring you the first episode in my trying to make Ambient/Melody hybrid. I had a story board in my head. A lonely BattleMech (that's right MechWarrior ftw) is trotting through the desert. Then a barrage of missiles (1:23) come from an opposing 'mech. The loner evades (1:36) behind a dune, comes back up (1:49) and the battle is begun.

Note that this is the epic version because I couldn't stop playing with it. So if it ever needed to be changed into true ambiance it can. Stay tuned for episode 2!

EDIT: Woohoo #3! I guess I'm the underdog for the week. :p

Also as an update, "EPISODE 2: THE WORKSHOP" is currently in post-production. All you ambient lovers will be happy I didn't scuff it up with epic-ness. So far no strings were used nor winds, but plenty of new toys.

"Beautiful."

I sense the looping of chords over and over again, yet they tend to create the mood and the visual in my mind. Nicely done on the so-called Arabian Desert theme.

Cool timpani roll. :)

"Wow this sounds just as good, if not better then.."

date: April 22, 2008

Wow this sounds just as good, if not better then the soundtracks to the Mechwarrior games in the 90's, very Battletech, its smooth, its epic in feel, has the "feel" of giant heavy metal machine, and desert in the classic sense of Inner Sphere. I recommended your work to the people working on a Mechwarrior mod for the game Crysis. I think their awesome talent could benefit from an artist of your skill when it comes to bringing a classic feel to their mod.

I really like the use of the various combinations of instruments and the beat is nicely played out. One of your best pieces of work.

"One thing missing..."

Dont get me wrong...
I love this music and am going to listen to it alot...

Make a flash movie with this. Use the music to motivate you to learn it (If you dont know it) Seriously that would be cool to make a mechwarrior game. I think that I would die of Ecstacy if YOU made a movie of this. You got the touch and the vision, Now all thats left is the work!
