Looking out of a high window into the city streets below. So many cars. So many lives. It's 2:00 in the morning, yet for the endless streams of cars, it could easily be 3:00 in the afternoon. The city never sleeps, and yet, it always seems to be dreaming. Standing there, at your window, you watch the lives go past, illuminated by streetlamps and the headlights of other lives. You watch and feel as if you are seeing things from outside the dream, yet you know that in just a few short hours, you will join it. Just like you did yesterday, and the day after tomorrow. Yet you know, as long as you don't participate, you are outside the dream.
