David Draiman: Pop Art

Share

YAY DISTURBED!!!

This is just a pop art pic of David that I did in school. If you're wondering what the things on his left side are, those are chains. Sorry, they might look funny, but they're chains. ^^'

tools: drawing paper, colored pencils and a sharpie.

XxCrimsonMoonxX responds:

Thank you! Their my favorite to! ^^ Well, my assignment was to make pop art of a famous person using a picture of the person and using at least 3 colors. I don't really remember the exact details but i think that I had to make something that related to me.^^

As for how I did this: I started out with a sketch then took sharpie and colored in the places that were the darkest shadows. Then I take the darkest color I picked(red) and fill in the second shade. And after I did that, I just got the other colors and followed suit. It was basically creating cell shading for the picture.

For the words, I had to pick "key" words that have to do with the subject(in this case David Draiman ^^) like song titles, album names, the mascot, the band's name, etc.; but it was important that I I arranged the words so that they were visually appealing and had good balance.

For tips to make pop art, I recommend researching famous pop artists and looking at some examples of pop art. For media choice, I think you should just go with the medium that you're most comfortable with.

Sorry for the long response and I hope this helps. ^-^
