Just bought my first android device, its sony`s Xperia Play XD, and its just like a new toys for me, there`s a lot of modification can be made in Android, and I left my mini IOS ipod touch and my wacom untouchable for some day since I bought the andro XD poor guys.

but yeah, every gadget have their own benefits, I`m not an android fanboy or another gadget fanboy, I`m just gadget lover, and I love em all ~ lol

Here is some simple Review from me of Xperia Play:
xperia have 1 GHz Scorpion processor (Snapdragon), which is quite powerfull for producing 60fps game visual, 512 Ram, and having an only 400 MB internal memory which is quite small for saving many application, but I`ve learned some trick to move the application data into SDcard without rooting, so I have about 60 application and I`m still have 150MB left.

the gamepad with the L1 and R1 button and also dual analog here sure is xperia play main selling point, I played the "muffin knight" both on IOS and xperia play, and I have a higher survival rate when playing with gamepads, but oh well, some games didnt need gamepad at all, such as angry bird :D, but if you want to play action game you`ll need gamepad more than anything, because playing action game in touchscreen is kinda suck for me XD

Battery life was moderate. on heavy use you`ll charge your xperia twice or three times in a day, but I can survive a day without charging with some light-standart use of internet and some little game, you can play for 3-5 hours with the full battery charged.

the screen is also good but not best, xperia sacrifice their screen brightness in exchange of the battery life, and its not amoled.

The 5megapixel camera was good, but not as good as my aino, But I love the camera application which can provide many interesting and beautifull photo effect. you can download it from market just like IOS. (sadly my aino cannot do that lol, sony has Abandoned the symbian market lol).

xperia play is quite big and heavy for an smartphone, its 170g, thats why the body construction was made from plastic which is made the gadget lighter. and if you have the black xperia play, the back cover will be a fingerprint paradise, if you dont like that fingerprint paradise, buy the white one just like mine XD.

conclusion: xperia play is a good smartphone for a gamer, its not made for anyone, you`ll find many more powerfull gadget nowday with a dualcore processor if you want a quick device, or maybe N8 if you want a powerfull camera smartphone, or 3D feature in HTC evo 3D.

but if you want to have a gaming smartphone, you must consider to buy the xperia play because its the best gaming smartphone at the moment.
