Cosplay is just plain weird. The way people typically react to it is also just plain weird.

Some people (read: hot girls) can pull of pretty much any costume they please, regardless of the actual effort put into designing the costume. Other people (read: fat guys) cannot and probably should not dress up, regardless of the effort put into designing the costumes.

It's strange how we draw these arbitrary lines in the sand.

Girls in costume? Awesome.

Guys in costume? Disturbing. . . well, unless it's Hugo Weaving or Man Faye, where it somehow manages to so far past disturbing that it somehow ends up right back near awesome.

What's worse is that for most people, they need a really good excuse to dress up as their favourite characters. Unfortunately, for some people, they just need any excuse at all.

What we have here in today's comic is one of the more extreme cases, where it has gone so far beyond disturbing that it has gone full circle and is very disturbing indeed.
