The treetops house a unique kind of predator, the vulnvaldi. Whilst the forest creatures may be used to ambush attacks from the brush or predators jumping from underground, they are slow to adapt to a flying one. But the flight of the vulnvaldi is a common misconception. They do not fly in the traditional sense as their wings cannot provide the lift necessary to propel its weight and is used instead to glide from high branches. Once the vulnvaldi needs to soar back, it coils itself into a fetus like position and inflates its wings using its fire breath, acting sort of like a hot air balloon.
