A window to the Apocalypse

Certainly a very good piece, to me. It looks as if someone is looking out of the window at the world outside through smoked glass that is offering some sort of protection to the viewer, as if hiden away in a bunker. Lots of scratches, dints and splatters coating the outside show that there could be a great deal of turmoil on the outside, which I think is symbolic of an apocalypse.

The figure on the left of the screen is particularly harrowing, with the gemstone for an eye and the menacing looking beak appears to be ready in wait for the door to open, that will inevitably spell doom for this viewer. With your use of reds, I'd have thought something more blue with the gem would have been a better choice for the gem colour, since if it were through a redish brown colour filter, you wouldn't have seen white...

I agree with Haggard and disagree with RogerBK...

...I think the white in the background ruins this piece. Maybe you should re-upload it with a better coloured background or possibly taking away the canvas altogether leaving the red nightmare in the middle.

The colours, except the white, obviously, were great. The red really depicts a nightmarish atmosphere and fits well with the black. The shading, especially on the beak of the bird and some of the wings, was amazing. I also liked the blood texture you added :). Good job!

The theme of the nightmare in the middle seems to show birds, but the fact that there are so many different ways to look at it merits this picture a long stare. This truly depicts a nightmarish scene.

Overall, this is a great submission. Just work on that annoying white canvas.

Nice

I liked it, really nice...
The colors are very nice, the contrast is awesome...

The light red gives an agresion feeling, and it looks good w/ the whit in the back.

Also, the drawing in the red part is very nice, i liked the hand draw feeling, that's a really good job, everything seems to work so well and perfectly, you really did a nice job!!!

A bit surrealistic in my opinion. The lines on the red background leave some room for interpretations, you could virtually see everything in there... and that's something I like about this picture.

I also like how the eye of the bird on the left side seems to show the background that is also surrounding the red background. Creates a very interesting effect.

I'm not too fond of the surroundings, though. They look a bit too bland compared to the center of the painting. They don't create the same nightmarish feeling the lines in the red center do.
