Some more ink work!

This drawing is just a hair too big for my scanner, so you get to miss out on some of the picture. Too bad for you!

Originally this was going to be a picture of a Balrog fighting the shieldmaiden Idrina from the Silmarillion. After the army is destroyed, Idrina was the only warrior left to guide her people out of the pass to saftey at the docks at the mouth of Sirion. They are beset by a Balrog of Morgoth, and Idrina fights the Balrog to her death -- but also the balrog's. Yellow flowers bloomed on her tomb until the breaking of the world.

However, After getting fairly far with inking the picture, I looked at the passage and realized that Idrina the Human never existed. Actually, it was Glorfindel leading the Noldor elves out of Gondolin after its location was betrayed. HE died, not Idrina, who was actually the princess of Gondolin, and almost died.

So, forunately, this picture only needed a few small adjustments to fit into my universe instead of Tolkien's. We now have the corrupted Aspect Loyalty fighting Altana, which is a battle both survive (mostly because Aspects cannot die).

Aspects were human beings, who, through tragedy, became totally consumed by an emotion or aspect of human existence that they could feel nothing else. they became immortal (unfortunately for them), and gained incredible power. Most of them roam around in pairs, and when they meet an opposed pair, they fight, are obliterated, pull themselves back together, and repeat. They all wish they could die. There are aspects for hate, stupidity, anger, malice, and cowardice, as well as aspects for love, ration, honour, and courage. Every aspect.

Loyalty is blind to the deeds of his master. being immortal, he has long served the house of Cassus, and is an Heirloom of that royal family. He currently belongs to Shiichi, the only truly evil person in my story. She forces him to dress up in magic armour that corrupts his released form, giving him the shape he has in this picture.

Altana is the slightly younger sister of Atus, her story is similar to Joan of Arc's, except with a different ending.
