I got the idea of making this from an album art cover. It is out of my sketchbook so the quality is a little messed up. Charcoal was used for the background. Tell me what you think.
Another amazing piece from a new charcoal artist.
This piece is even better than the first. It uses a lot more detail and shows a hint of mystery of what the portal is, or where it leads to. It is utterly incredible, a true piece of art. Keep working at it, and you might just be the next Picasso.

One characteristic I find hard to draw is vines or tentacles that overlap each other when drawing with pencil. You did this very nicely and I'm also a fan of the shading, it adds colour to a black and white drawing.
