I'm not very happy this one to be honest because I fucked up. I kept putting this off and getting distracted and not just knocking it out as soon as I got the job...if I had completed this as SOON as I got the job, this would've turned out way better.

I clearly got the job because this client liked what I did with that HK Brainhuff design...and he wanted something melty and cool-gross. An old man, like Danny Lo-Pan, who had a huge huge beard and was melting. With Grindhouse font, which I personally feel like I failed to recreate.

Well, I've had a family emergency lately, and my head wasn't in the game. I drug my feet on this, until finally he's texting me because its overdue. Rightly so! I hate being late, and jeez...I'm super late with this deadline...this should've been done on the 1st, and here it is completed on the 11th. Unacceptable.

I scrap the shackled hands he had raised, that had skin melting off, exposing his bone...ditched ideas where the skin was melting OFF his face and down his beard...ditched a lot of cool ideas and just said "Fuckit, he's a candle." Phoned in the color pallette, and just turned it into a rushed project.

This ain't following my personal mindset of "every piece of art you make should be better than the last one you made." ....and maybe there's an important lesson in that. That you can't be on your A-Game all the time... but I just hope my tardiness by missing the client's deadline won't affect my future business.
