Sorry, but I'm gonna have to join the ranks of the 8's on this one.
Its very impressive, yes... but the wings on this one have... a slight lack of contrast that makes it a little difficult to see where one wing ends and the other begins.
This has the effect of making the wing-arm appear to be an obstruction that merely blocks the viewers... er, view, of the wing, even though its not.
Still pretty cool though. A little tweaking and this would definitely rank up there with your other pieces!
Author's Response:
Oh i completely agree with you. This was one of the first proper dragons i painted on photoshop. It was done at the beginning of this year, and i've improved leaps and bounds since then.
I was tempted to not upload it to Newgrounds and to delete it from my DeviantArt gallery. But i decided against it, as i think it's a good idea to show progression within one's gallery :)
BTW, thank you so very much for all your kind words on my artwork. It means so much to me. Again, thank you ^-^
AWESOME!!! Do I need to say something more?
OBS: Can I save this image on my desktop?? Please?
Pretty good job!
Dragons are my favorite legendary animals. Not because of the devastation they can do, but mostly because I like the intelligence behind the emblematic figures.
I like your picture, representing not a wild animal in fury, but the pride of a wise dragon.
All very good- lighting, body shape, texture etc. but somehow it doesn't grab me in the same way as your Sunset picture. This one looks more like the standard computer pictures of dragons one gets here and on dA by the dozen. Its a more standard side-on pose.
Perhaps since you have so much scope for detail on Full Size, the body should be not quite so perfect- the odd scratch or irregularity maybe?
Again, this very good dragon work you do could possibly benefit from more studying real animals
Good art, much better then any i've seen for a while
