zelda reference
are those rupees from legend of zelda? awesome work 5/5 10/10
Mighty fine.
Slightly disturbing to see that the top right red gemstone doesn´t seem to actually REST against that stack of coins it has to its left, there´s a small gap visible, but meh.
All in all, this shit looks professional and VERY well done.
Doesn´t really look realistic
- but since this is an experiment with "just" normal texturing, it was hardly intended to look particularly real to begin with now was it?
End of the line is that I think this looks great, even when you don´t take the relative simplicity into account.
.....FRIG ON A STICK!!!!
oh crike muffins how did that red jewel escape my detail hunting eye like that!.
anyway the true experiment was not the normal mapping but rather seeing if i could fool people with a trick called vertice culling.
the trick involves the video cards inability to render any vertice smaller then 0 or just right at a perfect 0 in scale and the model will appear with a merged center.
this allows me to make several faked copies of the coins with no additional details. just rotate and postion a bit and viola you have a stack of coins that doesn't cost 5000 poly each stack.
